My Story

As a student in High School, I've always been forced to read books. What makes me different from most students, is how much I like to read them. Reading, for me, isn't something I only do because my teacher makes me. Reading is a hobby, a love, a life-style.

When I go out into the real world, I hope to be one of those people who writes those excruciatingly long reviews about books that no one will ever read. Yep, I know, I'm weird.

Everyone says that I should go into creative writing, that my imagination knows no bounds. But the truth is, the funny stuff that they see, that is amazing, doesn't take me the hour or two that they think it does. It takes weeks on end to find the right combination of words, phrases and ideas that make my fanfiction and short stories so imaginative. Long story short: I suck.

So, like those football fanatics who can't play football if their lives depended on it and they become agents, I shall become a critic: my parents think I should go into engineering because, in my mother's words: "that's where the money's at." Uh, mom, I hate engineering. Sorry.

If you actually read my sad soppy story, I LOVE YOU!!! and I'm sure you probably took valuable time out of your day to waste on my dreams, but I salute you. And if any of you have dreams in the literature world, from teaching to writing to criticing, I hope you don't suck as much as I do.

With love,
~Tark
